There are two main types of hypnotherapy: group hypnosis and clinical hypnotherapy. Group hypnosis is not a form of clinical treatment and is not meant to diagnose or treat any specific issues. Clinical hypnotherapy, on the other hand, is a one-on-one therapy session that is targeted towards helping individuals address specific concerns or issues.

How is hypnotherapy different from stage-show hypnosis?

The hypnosis often depicted in stage shows or movies is very different from the hypnotherapy experience offered at Mindpath Makers. These shows usually involve volunteers who are willing to be entertained by being put into humorous or embarrassing situations. It may seem like the participants are giving up all control to the hypnotist, but this is not the case in real hypnotherapy.

At Mindpath Makers, we do not use pocket watches, or susceptibility tests, or ask you to give up control during hypnotherapy sessions. In fact, you remain in control of your experience at all times and can choose to end the trance state at any point if you feel uncomfortable.

Can anyone be hypnotised?

As a hypnotherapist, I can tell you that anyone can be hypnotized, as long as they are willing to be hypnotized and are able to follow simple instructions. Some people may be more susceptible to hypnosis than others, but with a trained hypnotherapist, almost anyone can be hypnotized. It’s important to keep in mind that hypnosis is not a form of sleep or unconsciousness, but rather a state of focused attention and relaxation. During hypnosis, the person remains aware and in control at all times.

Is hypnosis safe?

Hypnosis is considered to be a safe and effective form of treatment when performed by a trained and certified hypnotherapist. It is important to find a qualified and experienced hypnotherapist who has received appropriate training and follows ethical guidelines.

Hypnosis is not suitable for everyone, and there are certain conditions where it should be avoided. For example, hypnosis should not be used as a substitute for appropriate medical treatment, and it is not recommended for people who have certain mental disorders, such as psychosis or dissociative disorders.

It is not possible for a hypnotherapist to control the mind of the person being hypnotized or make them do something against their will.

In fact, one of the fundamental principles of hypnosis is that the person being hypnotized must be willing to accept and respond to the suggestions of the hypnotherapist. If a person is not willing to be hypnotized or does not want to follow the suggestions of the hypnotherapist, they will not enter into a hypnotic state or be responsive to the hypnotherapy.
